MS Office Professional problems uninstall and install – Microsoft Community

I initially had Microsoft starter edition, and as it is not the full version I installed Microsoft Office Professional Plus and it was successful, but Work disdnt run as smoothly so i thought i will re-install and see. The unistall process was taking a long time so i cancelled it half way and thought i\’d try again, but this time it didn\’t work!

When i do this an error message pops up and says \”The language of this installation package is not supported by your system\”. Since that didnt work, i tried re-installing Office again using the CD but it came up with a error message saying \”This setup has detected legacy groove and you must uninstall all legacy groove and microsoft groove server software before installing or upgrading to microsoft share point workspace \”.

Then, i tried customizing the installation by unmarking Microsoft Share point and the set up ran till the end and gave another error message saying that \”this product key is already being used by Office or sumthing like that\”.

This thread is locked. Only problem is, Office is set as default for opening all office files. I cannot seem to change this in settings. After doing so, an error came up and the uninstall cancelled. When trying a second time, the error \”the language of this installation package is not supported by your system. I\’ve also tried to use Microsoft\’s Fix It, which failed as well. Next, I downloaded a Microsoft Office uninstaller.

This appeared to work, as Office was removed from the start menu. It\’s also still the default program. I used the original Office install disk to reinstall Offce, but that option was not available, instead I got options to fix, remove, enter Key.

I tried the fix option but the problem not updating remained. I used the Office install disk and used the option Remove. After several seconds I got the message Removal was not complete and to restart the computer. After the restart Office and its elements were still installed and functioning but the original problem remained.

After I did that, Excel etc. I had hoped doing that would tell the install disk that Office was not loaded and that I would get the Option to install Office Thank you. Was this reply helpful? Yes No. Sorry this didn\’t help.
